Scientific Games shows commitment to responsible gaming with Gift Responsibly campaign
Scientific Games has once again demonstrated its dedication to promoting responsible gaming education by supporting the annual Gift Responsibly campaign organized by the National Council on Problem Gambling. This marks the sixth holiday season that the digital games, technology, and analytics company has backed the initiative.
The Gift Responsibly campaign raises awareness against gifting lottery cards to minors during the festive season, citing potential harm from exposure to gambling at a young age. The campaign aims to prevent the normalization of gambling among children and discourage associating gambling with holiday celebrations.
Scientific Games is proud of its role in promoting responsible gambling practices and has implemented various programs to support this cause. The company’s Healthy Play program offers science-based tools and practices for lottery operators to protect players and prevent minors from engaging in games of chance. The program received a 2023 Communitas Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Furthermore, Scientific Games’ Responsible Gaming Study and toolkit provide valuable insights into the industry, promoting lottery literacy and advocating for responsible play. The company has also been globally certified as a Responsible Gaming Supplier by the World Lottery Association, making it one of the first lottery providers to receive this recognition.
Keith Whyte, executive director of the National Council on Problem Gambling, commended Scientific Games for its commitment to promoting the Gift Responsibly campaign. He emphasized the importance of preventing youth problem gambling and reiterated the position that minors should never participate in lotteries, especially during the holidays.
Carla Schaefer, Vice President of responsible gaming at Scientific Games, expressed support for the Gift Responsibly campaign, emphasizing the company’s efforts to prevent youth problem gambling and promote responsible lottery participation.
In other news, Scientific Games announced plans to increase investment in its iLottery Content Hub and recently launched a Monopoly-inspired lottery game.758 characters including spaces.
